It was at least gratifying to hear that his swordsmanship was a point of admiration for Shiro. Perhaps if Ken had been aiming to deal some lethal damage he could have done something to weaken Shiro before he used that technique to put Ken down, but he wasn't so sure about that. In such an event if Shiro survived the opening strike, he could all too easily make room between them to do the same thing again, just with even greater deadly force.
Ken was proud of his swordsmanship, especially after developing a few techniques beyond the fundamentals he had relied on for several years. It was kind of a shame though, wanting to be minimal and rely on the fundamentals had led to a rather potent loss, at least on Ken's part. He'd thought that there was no need for flashy techniques, but his mind had quickly been changed on that front after techniques had been used quite handily to end a fight with him. But after being dead for so long Ken and meditating much in that time he wasn't someone who set such resolutions in stone. Instead, he was bamboo, bending with the wind, but never breaking. And so he was willing to evolve when it was quickly proven that his previous tactics were faulty.

"Thank you for the compliment. Whatever skills you may lack in swordsmanship it's pretty obvious you're not lacking in power and resolve at least. You crushed me in a way that's left me feeling rather profound. I appreciate the spar even though you managed to end it so quickly. I hope to show further improvement in the future after some more much-needed training." He noted shaking his head with a chuckle. "And good luck with your work. I hope they improve those new dummies quickly seeing as you destroyed those last ones." He noted with a soft bow to Shiro before turning to go for now, intending to have his wounds looked after.
