Honestly, the skittish soul was very tempted to perform the vanishing trick so natural to her kind. She had never been so out of her element. For starters, her usual haunts were far murkier and filthier. And they had less people. She felt like a splotch of ink staining the pretty scene.
Luckily, Shizu had a thoughtful friend to anchor her to reality. The warm hand tugged her along insistently. In turn, she followed along obediently. Focusing on the sensation let her silence the anxiety whispering inside her skull.
Having lived ages on a diet of human souls and despair, the ghastly Arrancar was understandably unaccustomed to fancy, new things like concept cafes. However, she had taken a shine on the promises her friend had made earlier. “M-make us... feel like... p-princesses...” She mumbled a shy wish beneath her breath to anyone who cared to listen. Her vivid imagination painted a rose-tinted daydream, where she was in a sparkling dress enjoying delicious delights.
As soon as the gloomy goth had taken a seat, she started fidgeting. Her gaze flitted around nervously, twitching between the staff and the surroundings. The anxiety was beginning to whisper again... No, nonono, she did not belong here... But she couldn’t just suddenly leave now. This was a fine dining environment. It would be rude to cause a scene. She was trapped... By societal convention!
In an effort to find a distraction, the nervous ghost fumbled for a menu. Her hands were shaking. She also directed her anxious gaze onto her friend. “Ummm, w-w-w-w-” Juuust give it a moment. “-w-what s-should I order? W-what am I allowed to order? I don’t want to d-drain you dry...” She managed to stumble all over her words, while trying to politely ask for a recommendation.
