Lenalee #8
Lenalee took a deep breath and let out a winded huff, her shoulders tensing before they drooped and then her arms were crossed with her book trapped between them, her head turned to look away. The scowl was still on her face but she didn’t look at him - she knew he was grinning and smiling like a complete goofball, and seeing it with her own eyes would threaten to break her angry pout. She couldn’t have that.
When he questioned her choice of formality, she rolled her eyes and dared to look at him. As predicted, her features immediately softened and she lightly smacked his arm with her book. “Be - Cause!” she snapped, before a smile appeared and she gave in, giggling lightly and whacking him again. “Stop it, I’m mad at you, this isn’t fair! Do you know how many people saw us? What you just did? There was a captain, Shiro!” her brow twisted into a worried little knot as she threw her head back with a groan. “A captain! And his lieutenant, what are they going to think?” Pausing, she let out a sigh and shook her head before her smile returned.
“I’ll tell you what they’re going to think. That I actually enjoy spending time with a goof like you! It’s embarrassing… you’re embarrassing.” Although she would often spit harsh words at Shiro, she said them in a teasing tone this time and with a big smile on her face.
“I’m not holding your hand!” Lenalee gently pushed it away before stepping out in front of him, her back to the entrance. “I don’t trust you… besides, like I’d ever let people see us that close twice.” Her teasing continued as she walked backward into the restaurant he had carried her too. Before any comment could be made about the smile she wore, she spun around to see where they were going to sit. It was an obvious rule - the first one in was the one who decided on their seat, and Lenalee quickly decided.
“Come on, you slow poke,” despite her previous words, she turned around to grab his hand now, practically hopping through the dining area to pull him to the table she picked before it would be taken by somebody else. It was a cute smaller table for two that was by a fireplace, shielded from the windows.
