A soft 'tap-tap' would sound out, unheard by any but one, as Victor's feet met the rooftop. Once more he glanced over at the school building, then down at the device he held in one hand, shaped vaguely like a phone. They appeared to still be in the building, though he had faintly heard the last bell just a minute prior so they should be exiting soon. Walking over to the building's edge, his gaze raked over the students leaving the building, occasionally glancing back down at the device to check. It was a handy little thing he had picked up from Squad 12, simple in function so it wasn't very hard to get. Its purpose? To scan an area for any notable spiritual signatures, as his own ability to do so wasn't terribly great as of yet, though he planned to work on that sooner rather than later.
He had located one in the school he was now watching, though it didn't feel right to barge in while classes were still in session. He had instead been busying himself patrolling the area, as was his assigned job to do, while he waited for school to end for the day and the person he was tracking to be released. It was for no sinister purpose that he did so, in fact he hoped that their interaction, soon upon them, would be amiable in nature. He had no desire to upset the locals, quite the opposite, he was simply going a bit out of his way to touch face with any notable examples of them. There were several reasons he did this, but the primary one was to establish connections in the area during the length of his patrol. It was possible that they knew of trends and happenings of a spiritual kind that he didn't, and he wanted to cover all of his bases, thorough as he was.
The device did measure the vague direction of whatever it detected, and the thickening crowd of students made catching his target by eye very unlikely until it thinned out again enough that he could use the device to pinpoint someone. Stepping away from the edge of the rooftop, Victor instead opted to lean against a nearby wall, keeping an eye on the device so that he'd catch when his target started leaving the area, after which he could then pursue them until they were isolated enough that starting an amiable dialogue would be more feasible and not lead to awkward occurrences of them being observed talking to thin air.
Figuring he'd be waiting a few more minutes at the very least, he slipped the device into a coat pocket and leaned back. It really was more comfortable wearing clothes similar to what he wore in life, and he was glad that he managed to grab some from Squad 8. It was for this reason that he donned a long black coat instead of his usual uniform, with an equally dark pair of jeans and long-sleeved shirt underneath, capped off by fairly simple but equally dark boots. Okay, so his color scheme didn't change much, but he liked what he liked.
